Hello! I'm Marz. I make RPGs for fun. I'm probably best known for making Over the Mountain.
FAQ
Can I hack one of your games?
I've not had a clear policy in the past but going forward, it's my personal preference that any game hack of one of my games is listed for free. Pay what you want is the second best option. Obviously I can't stop someone for charging for their hacks but I'm personally not a fan. Also, please give credit with my username and the url of my itch.io page.
Why are all your games free?
A couple reasons. I already hate filing taxes for my main business, I don't feel like adding this to it. I think getting paid might take the fun out of it. I am very much an amateur; these games are just me trying to figure things out so it feels weird to charge for my experiments.
But the biggest reason why I play and make RPGs is to have a frugal source of entertainment. For a long time, I did not have the money to play big name RPGs so I started hacking together my own. I want my games to be very accessible to people in situations like the one I was in.
What about x accessibility format?
To start - I am disabled with multiple types of limitations. I make zero money from my games. It is my hobby. I do it the way some people crochet or paint. Like many other disabled people, I'm not able to enjoy my hobbies as much as I would like to because of those limitations - this one included.
I am in the process of learning how to make accessibility formats. I want to enjoy that process of learning just as I enjoy making my games themselves. I am learning about different plain text formats and part way through a Braille transcription course so that I can provide both formats eventually.
Being harassed, moralized, and canceled because I'm not pushing through my own disabilities fast enough for other people's tastes is not enjoyable and has made me consider deleting things all together. If you'd like accessibility formats from me and more games in the future, don't harass me.
Direct those efforts toward the multiple game publishers who still don't have accessibility formats despite having the resources. I am not one of them.
